Mission of Mercy PA is providing free dental care in York.

Weis Markets Arena at the York Expo Center has been turned into a dentist's office for the two-day clinic.

Many of the people who turned up on Friday hadn't been to a dentist for years. Some patients said they have no dental insurance, and others have been afraid.

Miguel Vacquez was happy with the care he received.

"It was awesome. Great service, great people. I really like it," he said.

Several hundred people came out on the first day. Organizers are hoping for a bigger turnout when the clinic continues Saturday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Services include medical screenings, dental exams with X-rays when necessary, cleanings, extractions, fillings, root canals and a limited number of partial dentures.
